SSI
Technologies Expands Acu-trac® Product Line
Janesville,
WI, June 1, 2002 – The Acu-trac® product line has recently
been expanded.
The
Acu-trac® product line has recently been expanded by SSI Technologies,
according to Bill Day, Director of Marketing and Sales for Non-Automotive.
The Acu-trac® fuel level sensor, which was originally developed
for heavy truck applications, has recently been migrated into an
industrial based product line. The major changes feature three extended
sensor ranges: 0 to 1.5m, 0 to 3m, and 0 to 8m. In addition, the
sensors will be produced using KYNAR, a derivative of Teflon®,
for the housing material.
SSI
has developed the Acu-trac® Ultrasonic Distance and Level Sensor
product family to include a wide range of customer specific options.
These include input voltage (12 or 24 VDC), analog output (PWM,
Voltage, or Current), integral connector or integral harness, NPT
threaded mount or standard SAE 5 bolt mount, NEMA4 or NEMA6 rated
packages, and volumetric or distance measurement. In addition, the
Acu-trac® family of products offers a RS485 digital interface
which can be used to both configure the sensor and communicate diagnostics
and volume/distance messages.
“We
found a demand or industrial level sensing capabilities using the
Acu-trac® sensor,” indicates Day, “At the request
of several customers, and to fit more applications, we decided to
add the additional ranges and use the more resilient KYNAR housing
material.”
Customer sampling is currently underway with full production and
shipping planned for September 1, 2002..
