Fluid-trac® Urea Tank and Adblue Tank Applications

Non-contact Fluid-trac® Three Wire Urea Level Sensor are ideal replacements for 33 to 240 ohm resistive float senders, reed-switch tube sensors, and capacitive tube senders in Urea tanks or Adblue tanks.

Adblue is a registered trademark for AUS32 (32.5 wt % strength of urea solution) with high impurity requirements. It is essential that Adblue maintain its high purity in the SCR system. Impurities can clog and damage the catalyst, rendering the SCR ineffective and possibly reduce its life expectancy. Traditional float senders have parts that protrude into the urea / adblue tank.

Urea / adblue is slightly alkaline with a PH of ~ 9.0 and since its composition is 67.5% water it should not be kept in contact with aluminum, brass or mild steel. Resistive float senders need to be constructed of more expensive stainless steel for use inside the urea / adblue tank.

In extremely cold weather, urea / adblue will start freezing at -11.5 degrees C (11.3 degrees F). Traditional resistive float senders tend to get stuck in the frozen urea / adblue and may break the float and/or give inaccurate readings.

Ideal Replacements for Float Level Senders in Urea Level Sensor Applications.

WHY CHOOSE A FLUIDTRAC UREA LEVEL SENSOR FOR UREA TANK AND ADBLUE TANK APPLICATIONS?

  • Non-Invasive - mounts on top of urea tank in same opening as the resistive float sender but does not come in contact with urea / adblue.
  • Operating temperature of -40° C to 85 ° C and is not affected by frozen urea / adblue because it does not protrude into the liquid.
  • More accurate (1/8th inch distance) than resistive float senders, reed switch tube sensors and capacitive tube senders. The urea level sensor is more robust and easier to install with no moving parts
  • Programmed with strapping table to take into account the unique shape of the fuel tank
  • Digital filtering on the urea level sensor eliminates errors due to urea / adblue sloshing in mobile tanks.
